When you have a baby, wipes become your new second best friend. You can never replace your first best friend … lol. 🙂 🙊
And because we use so many of them in a day – to wipe bums, faces, grubby hands, tables, floors, walls, chairs, bench tops, ourselves, pretty much everywhere your baby is in the vicinity of – it’s easy to just buy the best value for money in a bulk pack. I know I did.⠀
But … and it’s a big BUT … when you are using wipes on your precious treasures (and ourselves for that matter), we really need to ask ourselves, what are they made of? On the surface, you look at them, and they just look like a cotton sheet that smell nice. However, turn the pack over, and most mainstream brands list a plethora of un-pronounceable and allegedly toxic ingredients including the likes of parabens, methylisothiazolinone, 2-bromo-2-nitropropane-1-2-diol, fragrance, Phenoxyethanol, Propylene Glycol, Alkyl Dimethyl Benzyl Ammonium Chloride, Tocopheryl Acetate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) or Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES), Phthalates …… WTF?!
Given that we apply wipes to our largest organ, being our skin which absorbs whatever we smear, wipe, spray or rub into it, I certainly didn’t want to be applying the above ingredients to my daughter or anyone or any object for that matter.
So I made the everyday switch to Tooshies by TOM Pure Baby Wipes. They smell AMAZING, feel super gentle and the Australian company behind it are a heart-centred certified Bcorporation – which are entities that use the power of business to solve social and environmental problems. All big ticks in my book! ✅⠀

May 23, 2017 at 5:45 amGreat review. Its scary to see how many toxic ingredients are in the mainstream wipes. I recently went and tested all the wipes that were on display at a local baby show and couldn’t believe how harsh, dry and unpleasant smelling they all were. So glad we made the switch to Tooshies by TOM nappies and wipes for our bub as well. Such a relief knowing they are good for my little one and good for the planet! 🙂

May 31, 2017 at 11:03 pmI agree, an aweome review!! I definitely wouldn’t want all those chemicals on my body, so why would I use products with chemicals on my baby! There bodies and skin are so pure and I wanted/want to use only the purest and cleanest hence why we decided to use Tooshies by Tom nappies and wet wipes on bubs. I wouldn’t choose any other products! I even use the wet wipes myself 🙂

June 5, 2017 at 10:30 amGreat read and I completely agree.
I was recently gifted a pack of huggies new coconut wipes, my god they smelt good….. but in a spur of the moment I decided to do a quick simple test..
baby’s and especially my toddler like to stick wipes in their mouths. So That’s what I did, I gave tooshies a suck and it pretty much just tasted Like water With a little geranium flavour.
Well when I did the same thing to the huggies wipe I gagged as the ingriedients made me cough and my tongue went tingly.
Surely this would make anyone reconsider using wipes like this on their babies.
I definetely appreciate my tooshies just a whole lot more!
Proud tooshies convert since 2016

June 5, 2017 at 2:45 pmThanks for sharing your insights Abbey. Ewwww, that sounds so gross and I don’t even want to imagine what’s in the Huggies wipes for them to create that reaction. Happy you have found Tooshies wipes like I have 🙂
